Everyone LOVES a story! Digital storytelling is a great way to engage your students whilst at the same time deliver your subject!
Like a 'mini movie' digital storytelling brings the images to life, whilst being narrated by the author to create a unique story telling experience.
It makes YOU the author, narrator, publisher and director! an ordinary person with your own real life story!
What a fantastic tool it would be in the classroom! From SOSE to Maths, the possibilities would be endless to interact with and engage your students.
I could see millions of resources to use this for history lessons, especially being able to video and record the older generation.
Here is a Youtube video about digital storytelling

ICT in Education Conference 2009
I absolutely loved this presentation from
ICT in Education Conference 2009
It explains all the reasons why ITC's in the
21st Century are so important
What is learning about if there is no technology?
Construct knowledge - be actively engaged
Having the desire to learn
The relationships between teachers and students
Making the classroom exciting

DISCOVER Information Literacy
Above is the link to a video I found on Teachertube.
Whilst the video is interesting, personally I found Teachertube
to be too hard to navigate, too messy with too many ads.
(no I am not fussy....)

INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARDS

No chance of dust allergy here my friends, this is amazing!!
The capabilities of the Interactive whiteboards are endless.
Engaging a learner has never been easier - it brings "real life" into the classroom with its ability to enable group activities, collaborative discussion and reasoning and allows students to be involved immediately in what they are learning.
Recently in my Work Experience Day with my Year 1's, we were using the interactive whiteboard to "drop and drag" healthy and not healthy foods into the lunchbox - the kids loved it.

PICNIK & FLICKR

This is an image manipulation of my daughter fishing- she was a princess before the "PICNIK" and of course after
FLICKR is a website whereby you can legally download and use other peoples images by a means known as "Creative Commons Licence"
It is an excellent site for downloading a photo legally, and likewise you can upload your own photos for either personal or public use.
Fantastic for use in the classroom as students are able to browse a large range of pictures for free usage.

POWERPOINT & SLIDESHARE
Two birds - one stone - well at least I hope so
Recently I completed my Diploma in Children's Services through TAFE QLD - and I presented my "Creative Cluster" assignment as a Powerpoint Presentation.
I have uploaded it to Slide Share for you to see

MAHARA
Whoa- this is a topic just in itself!
I am still struggling a bit with Mahara - I have no doubt that its a wonderful e-portfolio -and in fact would like my children to sign up for one now and keep adding to it as they start and continue with their learning journey.
To say its comprehensive would be an understatement, but its capabilities I am sure if I continue to play with it will reward me in the long run.
I am looking forward (obviously :) ) to working towards a higher understanding and knowledge as my team and I embark on Assessment 3.
